The Bethesda Varsity Men's Basketball Team continued its winning ways, capturing the summer basketball league championship for the second year in a row. The team finished 10-0 and is anticipating a strong performance during the 2023-24 season. Athletic Director, Drew Edwards, says, "This is a talented, athletic, and well coached group of young men. They are hungry to get back to where they were last year and finish the job. I'm looking forward to a very fun and exciting basketball season!"
The Bethesda Football Team competed in the 6v6 TAPPS Tournament in Waco. The Lions finished pool play, defeating the TAPPS Division III state runner up and advancing to the 8-team bracket play. The Lions won the opening round but came up short in the second round. "These young men have made great progress over the summer and put in an immense amount hard work, staying dedicated to the team, coaches, and program," notes Coach Edwards. "They are going to have a great 2023 season, and I am looking forward to all that they accomplish!"
"Thank you" to all our student-athletes who attended summer workouts, open gyms, and sports-specific training sessions. Your commitment to the program and Bethesda coaching staff secures the future of Lions Athletics!
