Fort Worth, TX – The Bethesda Men's Basketball team took a 69-46 win over Plano Coram Deo in the championship game of the Bethesda Lions Tip-Off Classic on Saturday, November 19, in the Lions Gym. With this championship win, the Lions continue their undefeated season, including three straight wins in the Tip-Off Classic. The Bethesda Women's Basketball team made it to the championship game of the Tip-Off Classic, but they would fall to Muenster Sacred Heart, taking second place.
In the opening round of the Bethesda Lions Tip-Off Classic, the men took a 60-16 win over Hill School and followed with a 92-58 win over Heritage Christian in the semifinal game. The women opened the tournament with a 45-37 win over Heritage Christian and would go on to defeat Victory Baptist 39-30 in the semifinal game.
On the men's side of the bracket, Bethesda's Kevin Thornton took home Tournament MVP while Bethesda's Cienna Turner received Tournament MVP on the women's side. The Bethesda Men's Basketball team placed five on the All-Tournament team including: Cason Clagg, Hanson Allen, Eli Owen, Christian Blackwell, and Kevin Thornton. The Bethesda Women's Basketball team placed four on the All-Tournament team including: Jojo Bryant, McKenna Franks, Avery Robinson, and Cienna Turner.
The Bethesda Men's Basketball team will look to continue their undefeated season in the Community Christian Mineral Wells Tournament after defeating 4A public school Carter-Riverside. They currently sit at 7-0. The Bethesda Women's Basketball team currently sits at 2-3 and will look to keep their momentum from the Tip-Off Classic in the Community Christian Mineral Wells Tournament, taking place Thursday, December 1, through Saturday, December 3.
